| What American accent do you have? (Best version so far) Midland ("Midland" is not necessarily the same thing as "Midwest") The default, lowest-common-denominator American accent that newscasters try to imitate. Since it's a neutral accent, just because you have a Midland accent doesn't mean you're from the Midland. |

In writing the last post I found a great link:
Oh and two posts ago when I was talking about the CAPS LOCK key? Yeah I was fried from finals. But it's cool, I got straight A's! Wheee! I was never a good student in high school, and even my college grades aren't all that great. I hated math and it always pulled my grades down. I always got As and Bs in English though. I don't know why it took me 10 years to figure out that it would be fun to major in it.

![]() Raphael You can be considered the 'dark one' of your family. You're a hot-head, face it. Or...the 'Realist' some may say. It's a dog-eat-dog world, you're a pretty big dog. You normally lay low until some one gets up your back. You're anti-social and short-tempered...and you're not big on admitting it! But, even though you can act kinda rude and not-there, you're a rather large teddy bear on the inside when it comes to the ones you love...in danger. You hate being called a, 'softy' and you're always ready to 'bring it'. | |

I guess when I rage, I rage. I am a Zen master compared to most of the people I know though.
Mick Mars started Motley Crue when he was 30.

Michael Crichton has an interesting article about how gene patents are Real Bad. From the article @ The New York Times...
Gene patents are now used to halt research, prevent medical testing and keep vital information from you and your doctor. Gene patents slow the pace of medical advance on deadly diseases. And they raise costs exorbitantly: a test for breast cancer that could be done for $1,000 now costs $3,000.
The survey on youth sex trends also found that girls outnumbered boys at junior high schools and high schools when it came to those with sexual experience.

I like desktop wallpaper. I always make them for the bands I'm in. Good ones are hard to find.
When I first switched to the Mac, I was enamored with the way you could constantly shift your desktop wallpaper to different images. Every 30 minutes -- boom, different desktop. It's totally integrated, and the fadeout transition is pretty nifty.
Here's a link to Wallpaper Changer for Windows XP, which does the same thing. It's a little clunkier. I found it last week and have been enjoying it at work.
Oddly, I HATE Webshots. Mostly I just don't think their pictures are all that great. I prefer to find or create my own than to have someone else arbitrarily shove their idyllic portrait of outdoor life down my throat.
For more fun, here's some wallpapers (11MB zip) I downloaded from Hubblesite. They're all the 1280x1024 wallpapers that are available from their website. I think, since they offer them for free, that it's OK to put them here to download. If not, somebody let me know and I'll post links instead. It took me 30 minutes or so to go through and get them all though so I figured I would save everyone some time. Enjoy.

What the hell.
Of course, I had to go back a few months to find an entry where I wrote anything substantial. But still.
